The Times Journalism Fund broadly provides general support for the Tampa Bay Times newsroom, including coverage of topics of intense local interest like the environment, education, criminal justice, culture, sports, local government and politics.

The Times Investigative Fund predominantly supports the newsroom’s investigative reporting team and data journalists but also supports watchdog journalism throughout the Times newsroom.

Since the 1970s, the Newspaper in Education program (NIE) has served Tampa Bay educators and students by providing free access to the Tampa Bay Times — along with award-winning original educational publications, teacher guides, lesson plans, professional development resources and more — all at no cost to schools, teachers or families.

In 2024-2025, NIE:

• Served 762 teachers at 449 schools
• Provided 10,581,120 daily e-Newspaper licenses and 183,060 print copies of the Times to Tampa Bay classrooms
• Published 12 original curriculum supplements in partnership with corporate, nonprofit, foundation and government sponsors
